Lecture topics:

These specialist topics may be presented in the form of Masters classes, clinics, or workshops, and are tailored to meet the needs of the audience or class:

5.1.

The Physical Trumpet Pyramid

This is the title of my very first book and I am most often asked to speak on this topic. The PTP describes a hierarchical organization of the physical attributes of trumpet playing. Knowing this hierarchy helps the trumpet player become a better physical player.

5.2.

Even Steven

This clinic addresses the problems trumpet players face when attempting to play on "both sides of the fence", to become jazz players and classical players. Here I discuss the importance of stylistically neutral rudiments and a balance of literature from both sides.

5.3.

Nerves? Who Cares?

Having won a two decade long battle with stage fright, I now have a great opportunity to share my stories and solutions with people who are experiencing similar problems.

5.4.

An Expression of Grace

A Christian Alternative to new age solutions for stage fright. An ideal topic for church bands or Christian school orchestras.

5.5.

Range Familiarity

How to develop a greater range without ever working on range. This is a "use it or lose it" approach to range development which is completely independent of traditional range exercises.

5.6.

Out of Sight, Out of Mind

A basic outline of my approach toward the business side of music. We discuss general concepts and ideals first and then move on to cover some of the more specific marketing devices.
